The 25th winner of the 1000 Guineas, held on Thursday 3rd May 1838 over the Ditch Mile, was Barcarolle (4/1), a brown filly by Emilius out of Bravura, owned by the 4th Earl of Albemarle. A field of 6 runners contested the race which was worth £1875 (Equivalent to £193,200 in 2017)
